Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Michelle Staudinger is an Associate Professor in the School of Marine Sciences at the University of Maine and located at the Darling Marine Center. Michelle’s laboratory group focuses on assessing climate impacts and developing climate adaptation solutions for coastal and marine resources, primarily in the Northeast United States. Dr. Staudinger is a member of the Maine Climate Council’s Coastal and Marine Working Group and serves on the New England Fishery Management Council Scientific and Statistical Committee (SSC). Dr. Staudinger has also contributed to national climate adaptation planning initiatives including the Biodiversity, Ecosystem and Ecosystem Services chapters of the 3rd and 4th National Climate Assessments, and Scenario Planning efforts for Endangered Species management. Prior to her position with the University of Maine, Dr. Staudinger spent a decade in federal service, working for the U.S. Geological Survey as the Science Coordinator of the Department of the Interior’s Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center located at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
