Biographical Sketch:
Jaclyn Witterschein is Marine Research Specialist at the URI Coastal Institute. She integrates her love of native ecosystems with more than 14 years as a collaborative leader in operations management, strategic planning, and accessibility advocacy. Having earned Master’s in Sustainability and Environmental Management and certified in Natural Resource Management and Sustainable Ecosystems through Harvard University, Jaclyn joined the Institute with a broad understanding of coastal and marine environments. Her foundational knowledge includes wetlands science and policy, green infrastructure, site assessment, living shorelines, and GIS. Since 2016 Jaclyn has served as a board director of the Friends of the National Wildlife Refuges of Rhode Island. She is a Rhode Island Certified Invasive Species Manager.
