Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Miller is a Research Associate Professor of coastal and ocean engineering in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Ocean Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology. Dr. Miller also serves as the Director of the New Jersey Coastal Protection Technical Assistance Service and the New Jersey Sea Grant Coastal Processes Specialist and leads the Stevens Coastal Engineering Research Group (CERG). Dr. Miller works directly with the State of New Jersey and its coastal communities to identify and implement engineering solutions that promote coastal resilience and environmental stewardship. Dr. Miller has published extensively in both peer reviewed and gray literature on coastal resilience and has secured over $20 million in funding as a PI/Co-PI. Dr. Miller’s research group includes 16 current/graduated PhD students, 25 current/graduated Master’s students, and over 100 current/graduated undergraduate research assistants.
